Important Information About the Privacy Suite Yearly Subscription

When you purchase Privacy Suite, you may use it indefinitely without incurring additional fees. However, one area of this program- the Privacy Guard- cleans, among other items, traces left by third party programs such as Yahoo Messenger!, Internet Explorer, Firefox, MS Office and more.

These third party programs continue to evolve over time. For example, Internet Explorer recently went from version 6 to 7.

In the past, the only way for Privacy Suite users to keep up with new versions of their favorite programs (as well as have the chance to clean new programs, such as Skype) was to purchase a Privacy Suite upgrade, which would include the ability to clean these new and modified applications.

However, this process exposed our users to a heightened security risk. If Adobe® Acrobat released version 8 in November, and we did not release a new version of Privacy Suite until April, then you had no way of removing traces from Acrobat 8.

With Privacy Suite version 5.0, we have addressed this issue. Users are now able to participate in an optional Yearly Update Subscription if desired, and obtain patches that clean these third party programs. We try to release these patches within days of third party program modifications.

There is no obligation to participate in the Yearly Update Subscription. We have included a free 90 subscription with each purchase, so that you may evaluate this service to see if it is right for you. Should you pass on this subscription option, Privacy Suite will continue to function; however it will not be able to clean modified third party or new applications. You may, as in the past, simply Upgrade to a new version of Privacy Suite when available to address these new security concerns.

Note: If you are a Lifetime Upgrade Insurance holder (this option is no longer offered), you will continue to receive all future versions of Privacy Suite (such as Privacy Suite 6.0, 7.0 etc.) at no additional charge. The Yearly Update Subscription is not an Upgrade, and is not provided free of charge under this plan.
