Installation

Mosquit.a consists of a installation file about 140KB in size originally named "Mosquitos Cracked by Soddom.sis" or "Mosquitos Cracked by Soddom V2.0.sis", though other variants of the name are possible.

The Trojan itself is installed as Mosquitos.app and is about 261.6 KB.

Propagation

Mosquit.a is included in a pirated version of a game named Mosquito. The cracked version of Mosquito is available on download sites and via P2P networks. In fact, there are several variants of the game with different installer components currently available in P2P networks. When users launch the game the Trojan displays the following message:

Mosquit.a is designed to send SMS messages to designated premium rate sites unbeknownst to the device owner.
